“I might have been born in Liverpool – but I grew up in Hamburg” – John Lennon  Lennon was quoted with this when they talked about the beginnings of The Beatles when they still used to play in Reeperbahn’s small bars during the early years of the 1960’s. And Reeperbahn is the world’s largest red … Continue reading →

München: 200th Year of Oktoberfest!

Posted on October 29, 2013 by heart & sole • 1 Comment

The very first ORIGINAL Oktoberfest was held last October 1810 (exactly 200 years) to celebrate the wedding of King Ludwig and his Queen (still a Princess at that time). Initially, it was just for horse race and carnaval, then when it became successful and helpful for Munich’s agriculture, they hold it yearly and lengthen it … Continue reading →

“Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children’s approach to life. They’re people who don’t give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of … Continue reading →

“Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love.” – Albert Einstein (Iconic Scientist of all time from Munich) Last year, I met Isi through Kat and Basti, at first i thought she’s a snob coz she is so quiet. We talked about going to the next Oktoberfest (2010) and Kat suggested that we will … Continue reading →

Lübeck: Alone with My Unforeseen Companion

Posted on October 27, 2013 by heart & sole • Leave a comment

“It is love, not reason, that is stronger than death.” – Thomas Mann (famous writer from Lübeck) Lübeck is the very first city in Europe that I have been. From Singapore, I flew to Hamburg and booked my flight to Stockholm thru Ryanair, and as warned by friends, Ryanair’s airports are always out of nowhere … Continue reading →

Who am I?

Hi fellow itchy soles! I am no writer, I am just a storyteller. Please bear with my flaws when it comes to writing, I just share my experience the way I would share it with a friend over a cup of tea or a pint of cider. I love to see new places and learn new things, and I blog about it for not what I have seen, but for what I have learnt. So, sorry to disappoint you, but this is not a travel blog about tips and planning. It is to inspire your hearts in some ways it did to mine. Xx

In 2007, the New7Wonders Foundation and United Nations announced the winners of the 7 NEW WONDERS OF THE WORLD and naming the Pyramids of Giza from Egypt an honorary status being it’s the only remaining ancient wonder of the world from the original seven wonders.
Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is the only remaining 7 Wonders of the ANCIENT World. I was fortunate to visit it in 2015.
My 7th Wonder of the World is Chichen Itza of Piste when I visited Mexico in July 2018.
My 6th New Wonder of the World is Cristo Redentor of Rio de Janeiro when I visited Brazil in March 2017.
My 5th New Wonder of the World is Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientes when I visited Peru in February 2017.
My 4th New Wonder of the World is The Great Wall of China of Beijing when I visited China on my birthday in September 2014.
