My Playlists

Ghost – Indigo Girls

Indigo Girls is one of my favorite duos out there. I started listening to folk rock music when I joined (again) a mountaineering group in college (UP Mountaineers) in 1996, when we would always go to small pubs and sing along with the local folk performers playing their own songs and sometimes cover songs from Indigo Girls, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, etc. We were even called the “Indigo Gels” by our fellow-mountaineers because we just adore them too much, perhaps irritating most of them with our voices when we sing along, especially with this song, Ghost :P

Indigo Girls music is being described as emotionally moving and utterly poetic. They are identified as lesbians and active political and environmentalist activists (that’s why perhaps we mountaineers love them?). It took me several years to see them perform live and UP-CLOSE when I was in Singapore already in 2009. Perhaps, very few Singaporeans are familiar with their music that’s why we got the chance to see them in a small library and so close! Here are some of the photos:

Soundcheck, I was already teary eyed at this point! :P

The moment I've been waiting all my life! Most of the songs they played were from their new album so I only know a little from their set...Too happy they did not give way to the request of some for Power of Two! :)))
